What our parents are saying about the Institute!

Thanks for a wonderful week - it was hard work, but well worth it and VERY inspiring!
We will definitely be back!  Kind regards, Denise Sturrock

My kids were sailing high last night. They almost got up early to get their instruments
in their hands and practice. Two sons even kissed me and said, "Thank You mom, again,
for Suzuki camp".
They loved:
-their teachers
-the music
-the fellowship with other musicians
-the inspiration they received to practice and try to progress quickly
-the campus
-the final concert Jo, thank you for all the work you put into creating this. I'm also grateful to all the
teachers who travel so far to participate. Now, how do we apply for next year? Amy Ellzey

Hi Alyse,
Thank you so much for allowing my children Emma and David to participate in your early childhood class today!  What a joy it was to see them following along in your activities.  I wanted to let you know of two things that have happened with my kids today, in response to the class this morning.  We were driving home this afternoon/evening to Phoenix, where we live, and my kids spontaneously started clapping to the beat of a Paul Simon song playing in the car as were driving.  I have never seen my 17 month old truly keep a steady beat with clapping or banging anything, and he had started it all.  Then Emma joined in and there were several minutes of clapping in rhythm, and of course my husband and I joined in, and there was so much laughter.  It's like my kids knew how cool it was that they found the beat and were so delighted with themselves for doing so.  Then later Emma sang "Ring around the Rosy" for about 15 solid minutes (no joke!) during our car ride, she just kept looping it - there were no pauses.  Then she's changed up the words for variety, but kept a steady beat to it all.  My husband and I were pretty amazed.  Emma said her favorite part of class was banging the "colorful drum." Thanks for giving us a sneak peak, and I hope to have my son take your whole class next year.  I think my daughter will be a pre-twinkler, and I hope to take the teacher training again.
Blessings!    Katherine Landes

hi Leslie, it was a pleasure meeting and interacting with you at the Suzuki Institute. Jessica really enjoyed the intro to jazz class. She's interested in playing classical music, but I'm also trying to get her to be interested in playing folk, bluegrass, jazz, rock, etc. I'm glad that the Suzuki folk thought that jazz would make a great enrichment topic. Here's the video of you guys jammin' to Aunt Rhody.
