Rae
Kate Shen (Piano, Chamber Music) holds
a Bachelors degree in Piano Performance and a Masters degree in Accompanying
Performance from the University of Southern California. Besides piano,
she has also received formal instruction on the harpsichord, organ and
briefly on the violin.Presently, Ms. Shen teaches piano and coordinates the Suzuki Program at the University of Redlands Community School of Music and the Arts, as well as in a private studio in Los Angeles. She is a registered teacher trainer with the Suzuki Association of the Americas and has studied extensively with Dr. Kataoka in the United States as well as several times in Matsumoto, Japan. Besides teaching, Ms. Shen performs in many chamber music concerts as a member of the Marina Ensemble. In addition, she is a frequent guest clinician at numerous institutes and workshops throughout the United States, as well as a member, board member and an adjudicator for the Music Teachers' Association of California.
