Faculty - Cathy                       Hargrave				Cathy Hargrave (Piano,Teacher Trainer) holds a Bachelor and Master of Music degree in Piano Performance. She received her Suzuki Teacher’s Certificate from Dr. Shinichi Suzuki and Dr. Haruko Kataoka (Suzuki Piano’s co-founder) where she also served as accompanist for many of Dr. Suzuki’s teacher trainees. She has been a recipient of SHAR’s Distinguished Young Teacher’s Award, is an SAA registered teacher trainer, and has taught at workshops throughout the U.S., as well as in Canada, Japan, and Russia. She has presented lectures at National and International Suzuki Conferences, written various articles for the Suzuki Journal, and is the author of a rhythm study book, Basic Rhythm Studies, and Reading Music By Ear, an explanation of applying Suzuki philosophy to the subject of reading musical notation. She currently teaches in Rowlett, TX.
