General Information              

Significant growth in musicality
is offered to each participant.

This unique program is open to students of violin, viola, cello, and piano both Suzuki and traditionally trained, who will be at least 13 years of age at the time of the Institute  It should be noted that a certain level of maturity is necessary for students to cope with both the audition process and the more public nature of the instruction.

Minimum playing levels are as follows:
Violin: Sonata in F Major by Handel
Viola: Concerto in G Major by Telemann
Cello: Danse Rustique by Squire
Piano: Sonata K. 330 by Mozart

Prepare a high quality videotape (VHS or DVD) which will include a three-octave scale of your choice and two contrasting movements or pieces. Piano accompaniment is not required.

Send no later than April 15, 2010.

Students who apply individually will be placed in an ensemble based on taped auditions.  Currently existing ensembles may also apply as a group.  Enrollment is limited and competitive.  Students are encouraged to apply no later than April 15.  Students accepted to the program will receive their group assignment and music in late June and will be expected to have prepared the music to a rehearsal-ready level by Sunday, July 18th.  Those not accepted into the program should consider the extremely rewarding options available in the student Institute for advanced level students.  If not accepted, your entire deposit amount will be refunded.
